95 Years in 95 Days: A Journey Through the Scholastic Awards Archives

The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards are turning 95! For nearly a century, the Scholastic Awards have identified and showcased the remarkable creativity of teens from across the nation. Over the years, we’ve amassed countless images and artifacts showing the growth of our program, and the creative ability of teens from 1923 to 2018.

Join us on a journey through the Scholastic Awards Archives. Beginning in December 2017, we will be sharing images on Instagram that tell the story of the Scholastic Awards, from their early days as a writing contest in the Scholastic Magazine to their current years as a program that provides opportunities for recognition, exhibition, publication, and scholarships to thousands of teens nationwide. Our tour of the archives ends on March 13–National Notification Day–when teens across the country who earned a National Medal in the 95th annual Scholastic Art & Writing Awards will be notified of their award.

Follow the Scholastic Awards on Instagram at @artandwriting to join in the fun!
