Webinar Feb 20: Empowering Students and Families While Stemming Summer Reading Loss

Join us for a special webinar on Tuesday, February 20 as we dive deep into findings on how summer reading activities directly contribute to reducing or stemming summer reading loss.

Featured speakers include Ansel Sanders, Ed.L.D., President & CEO at Public Education Partners (PEP), Greenville County and Andrea Rizzo, Ph.D., Director of Research & Validation at Scholastic.

Public Education Partners and Scholastic partnered with Greenville County Schools in South Carolina to increase access to books and engage families in summer learning. Findings from PEP’s 2016 Make Summer Count initiative, showed that 78% of students in grades 3–5 maintained or increased their reading levels from spring to fall. Most recently, Make Summer Count received the 2017 Dick and Tunky Riley WhatWorksSC Award for Excellence for demonstrating successful strategies to help stem summer learning loss.
