Will these be tomorrow's most brilliant inventions?

Ever wish you created the best thing since sliced bread? Well, a few kids from around the country got innovative and created what we think are the most "brilliantly ridiculous inventions" of the year!

As part of a contest through Scholastic Reading Club, we asked kids to think of an invention that would make the world a happier, better place. Kids drew pictures of their inventions and we were truly amazed by their creativity.

Congratulations to the winning entries (in no particular order):

1-The Electricity Saving Turn Style by Benjamin from Colorado: “Is your energy bill going up because you forget to turn off your lights. Here is a solution that will help with that!"

2-The Electric Spoon Device by Brianna from Texas: “When you have a hot soup, do you eat it, and then it burns your tongue? Well, not anymore!"

3-The C.O.C.O. By Christine from Pennsylvania: “Are you tired of organizing closets and taking 3 whole minutes to hang up clothes, just to see them fall down again? Do not fear, the Coast Outfit Closet Organizer (COCO) is here!
